Koshiro Torisu
Koshiro Torisu (also known as torisukoshiro) is an illustrator and animator who was born in Tokyo, Japan, in 1973 and graduated with an Associate of Applied Arts Degree in Visual Communications from The Art Institute of Seattle in 1998.
Since 1998, he has produced limited-edition posters, postcards and T-shirts for such clients as Librairie du Palais de Tokyo, Centre Pompidou, Deutsche Guggenheim Berlin, The New Museum of Contemporary Art, New York and various retailers in Tokyo, Paris, Sydney and London.
Ten limited-edition poster and postcard designs were acquired by the Rare Book Department of the National Library of France (Bibliothèque nationale de France, Réserve des livres rares).
He has done commercial work for Liberation, Greenpeace, Seagate, Siemens, MTV Asia, Excite Japan, Panasonic, Bandai, Mitsubishi Paper Mills, Shift Japan and Die Gestalten Verlag.
His animation work has received awards and has been featured in publications including Étapes, Liberation, Macromedia Japan, RESFEST Japan, So-en (装苑), NHK, Festival International du Film de L'Internet (FIFI), The Electronic Language International Festival (FILE) and BBC.
